During the confinement situation due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19, the training programs for people with intellectual disabilities developed by various partners of U4INCLUSION Project have continued to be successfully developed thanks to online communication tools.

For the Institute for Inclusive Education, which carries out qualifications to educational specialists in collaboration with various Universities across Germany, the key to success has been adjusting to each participant’s needs and competences individually, using different types of tasks and methods of learning, depending on each person’s equipment and capabilities. The Heads of Qualification have resorted to various communication channels, such as e-mail, telephone, text messages or Skype. Moreover, the educational specialists of the Institute have continued to develop their program of classes and seminars virtually.

At Miguel Hernández University of Elche (Spain), the students of the training program on Shop Assistance have continued their classes every morning, as if they were at the University, using a Whatsapp group and email as the main communications tools with teachers for the development of the activities, and meeting also virtually every morning to have classes using Google Meet.

Despite the difficulties, this period has been very useful to promote technical and digital competences among our students, as well as our teachers and program managers.
